Vikas News – June 2017 issue

Dear Users,

June shower of Vikaspedia updates…

The delight of South-west monsoon showers, children getting back to school after their summer vacation, the nation gearing up for roll-out of GST, World Environment Day on June 5 (theme being “Connecting people to nature")… June is indeed a month filled with action.

Talking about the proposed rollout of Goods and Services Tax (GST), the Central Board of Excise and Customs is taking all efforts to sensitize stakeholders through provision of awareness materials on GST in multiple Indian languages. Under the section “Schemes for You”, we provide a coverage of these resources, which will help you equip and update your knowledge on GST.

In this issue, under the section “InfoSec for You” we throw light on an important aspect called “Credit card fraud”. Credit card fraud is a wide-ranging term for theft and fraud committed using a credit card or any similar payment mechanism as a fraudulent source of funds in a transaction. Credit card fraud is also an adjunct to identity theft. Let’s be aware of it.

In the “Volunteer of the month” section, we share the experiences of Dr. Adhikari Sahu, a veterinary professional who has started an exciting journey of being a Vikaspedia content contributor is his domain of expertise.

The regular sections on Vacancies/Recruitment notices from government agencies and Domain-wise content updates also find place in this issue of Vikas News.

Happy reading………………
