                                Sub: Banning of plastic carry bags

Respected Sir, 

                    Through a column in your esteemed daily, I would like to express my views on the major problem of pollution caused by plastic bags in the world we live in. Plastic plays a very important role in making our lives easier. But it has a very negative impact on the earth & the environment around us.

 Plastic bags are undoubtedly a cheap and convenient medium of carrying almost all kinds of goods. But they are nonbiodegradable. Hence, they are not at all eco-friendly. Moreover, the burning of these polythene articles emits harmful gases polluting the atmosphere. These gases are harmful to the people also. Moreover plastic gets logged in the drainage system causing the water to overflow & lead to pollution & dirtyness.We have to minimize the use of plastic bags and throw it in a proper way and replace them by jute or paper bags. However, the use of plastic below 40 micron may be permissible. The Government should come forward to enforce strict laws regarding its prohibition. Therefore I request you to print my letter to spread awareness.
