1. South Korea tops global average Internet Speed
According to Akamai's 'State of the internet report, South Korea remains the country with highest average internet speed of 26.7 Mbps.
India's Internet Connectivity Remains Slowest in Asia-Pacific. According to the 4Q 2015 report, India had an average internet speed of 2.8 Mbps, a growth of 11 percent quarter on quarter and 36 percent yearly growth. At the global level, India rank's at near bottom ranking 114th in Internet speeds.
Even countries like Vietnam and Philippines rank above India when it comes to Internet speed.
India's neighbor China ranks 89th with average speed of 4.1Mbps.

Singapore retains top spot for highest average peak Internet speed - Peak Internet speeds in Singapore are the fastest in the world, but on average, Internet speeds in the island nation rank 16th globally.

Note:
India ranks decently at 57th across the world when it comes to internet speeds of over 15 Mbps.
As far as number of unique IP addresses go, given the sheer number of Internet connections, India ranks among the top 10 countries with highest unique IPV4 addresses (17.6 Mln).
America has the highest unique IPV4 addresses which stand at just over 143 million.
2. Modi, Sania among Time probables for most influential people

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, tennis star Sania Mirza and actor Priyanka Chopra are among the probable contenders named by Time magazine for its annual list of the most influential people in the world.
Time will announce its 'TIME 100', the annual list of the world's 100 most influential people next month.
Time said "Modi remains a powerful voice on the world stage," and while he saw his domestic agenda "sidetracked by political squabbles" in 2015, his country still leads the world in economic growth.
Modi was named among Time's 100 most influential people in the world last year and President Barack Obama had written a profile for him for the magazine.
On Mirza, Time said India's best female tennis player secured the number one ranking in the world for women's doubles "while helping to redefine the role of female athletes in her home country''.
Time said Chopra, one of the highest paid actors in Bollywood, has "caught Hollywood's attention" for her role in the drama series 'Quantico' and "will continue to do so in the Baywatch remake".
Indian-born CEOs of the world's top technology companies Google and Microsoft are also among the list of 127 probables for the annual honour.
The list also includes SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, singer Rihanna, Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt, Harry Potter author JK Rowling, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan, Myanmar's pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Pope Francis, reality TV star Kim Kardashian, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly.
3. World Tuberculosis Day observed today

World Tuberculosis Day (WTD) 2016 was globally observed today with the theme Unite to End TB.
The theme was selected against the backdrop of the adoption of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda by the United Nations General Assembly in September 2015.
The Goal 3 of the Agenda aspires to ensure health and well-being for all, including a bold commitment to end the epidemics of AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and other communicable diseases by 2030.

It is annually celebrated on 24 March to commemorate the day on which Dr. Robert Koch discovered the cause of tuberculosis, the TB bacillus in 1882.
The day aims to build public awareness about the global epidemic of tuberculosis (TB) and efforts to eliminate the disease.

4. India overtakes China in direct investment by US

India has overtaken China in terms of direct equity allocation by US investors.
The data released by US Treasury shows India makes up 1.8% of US foreign equity holdings as on December 2015 as against 1.6% of China.

5. Mehbooba Mufti elected PDP legislature party leader

Mehbooba Mufti was today unanimously elected as PDP legislature party leader, with a senior leader saying that she is the PDP nominee for the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister's post.
The 56-year-old PDP President was elected the leader of the legislature party at a meeting of PDP MLAs, MLCs and MPs at her residence in high-security Gupkar here this evening.
Mehbooba is PDP's nominee for the Chief Minister's post, said senior party leader Muzaffar Baig after the meeting.
Mehbooba thanked the party legislators for showing faith in her leadership and electing her as the legislature party leader.
6. Economy to grow at 7.2% in 2016-17: BMI Research

The Indian economy is expected to grow at 7.2 per cent in 2016-17, a tad lower than Central Statistics Office's advance estimates of 7.6 per cent in the current fiscal due to weak investments and external headwinds, says BMI Research.
"We forecast India's real GDP growth to come in at 7.2 per cent for FY17 from our estimate of 7.3 per cent in FY16 and 7.2 per cent in FY15," the research firm said in a statement.
Indian economy continues to face multiple challenges, and this is being reflected in high frequency data such as industrial production and trade, it added.
Note:
Central Statistics Office had projected 7.6 per cent GDP growth rate in its advance estimates for the current fiscal released earlier in February this year.
According to Japanese financial services major Nomura, India's GDP growth is likely to pick up to 7.8 per cent in fiscal 2016-17 from 7.6 per cent this year, largely driven by higher discretionary demand.
7. Story telling artiste V D Rajappan passes away

Kerala's popular story telling artiste ('Kadhaprasangam') and Malayalam film actor,V D Rajappan passed away today at a private hospital in Kottayam.
Known for his comic roles, 70-year-old actor was bedridden for quite some time.
Rajappan, who acted in over 50 Malayalam movies, was known for his unique style of presenting 'Kadhaprasangam' in a satirical manner.
His memorable comedy 'Kadhaprasangams' include 'Kumari Eruma', 'Mak Mak', 'Priye Ninte Kura', 'Amittu', 'Pothu Puthri' and 'Ennennum Kurangettandeh.'
8. Shane Watson to retires from international cricket

Australian all-rounder Shane Watson declared that he will call time on his 14-year-old international cricket career at the end of his team's campaign in the ongoing ICC World Twenty20.
Watson's decision to retire caught many off-guard at the I S Bindra Stadium in Mohali. He was seen delivering an emotional speech to his teammates at the start of the practice session on the eve of Australia's must-win match against Pakistan.

The Dutch footballing legend Johan Cruyff has died after a battle with cancer.
He was a former Ajax and Barcelona star is considered one of the greatest players of all time, having led the famed Netherlands team of the 1970s, exponents of 'Total Football', to the 1974 World Cup final.
The Dutchman, who on three occasions was voted the world player of the year winning three Ballon d'Ors.
